Buyers + Cellars

This short but interesting stop is at the Buyers + Cellars Tasting Room nestled in the heart of Ottawa. This unique hideaway offers a large and eclectic portfolio of hand-crafted wines that have been selected by a team of seasoned professionals. Their call to fame being “affordable luxury” and will offer you the opportunity to experience wines from regions of the world you never thought possible. Wine samples and charcuterie will be included.

Ottawa’s wine tour will stop here for about 45 minutes, to enjoy samples from regions of the world you would not expect paired with some of the best charcuterie arrangements in Ottawa.

Kin Vineyards

Our second stop will be in the depths of the Ottawa Valley at KIN Vineyards, where sustainability and biodynamic approaches underpin one of the most famous wineries in Ontario. You will have the opportunity to learn about the tremendous amount of effort that goes into the ancient art of viticulture as well as sample select wines and food pairings.

“Great wine truly is made in the vineyard and it is an adherence to this philosophy that informs our choice to farm sustainably, including both organic and biodynamic approaches whenever possible. Healthy soils, a biodiversity of flora and fauna creates a vineyard of balance and synergy … and ultimately, wines of substance, integrity, uniqueness of place and longevity. Our winemaking is focused on using experience and skill to achieve balance in the wines rather than to achieve a preconceived ideal.”

The wine tour will enjoy this stop for about 2 hours, in order to learn about the vineyard, the wines, and most importantly to enjoy wine and food pairings.

Farmgate Cider

One of our stops will be at the cozy Farm Gate Cider and Orchard. Experience the warmth of a family operated establishment where community is at the core or everything that they do.

“We plant, prune, graft, harvest, crush, bottle, label and sell together. Each bottle of cider is a testament to this: we won’t sell anything not worthy of our own dinner table. We also value local and sustainable agriculture. We don’t use pesticides, hormones, or other chemicals on our apples. We don’t add sulphites, preservatives, or additives to our cider. Our bottles are high-quality and reusable.”

Ottawa’s wine tour will spend 2 enjoyable hours at this location, enough time to fully experience the tour of the orchard, the cider making process, the 6 cider samples included, and the wood oven pizza to accompany them.
